I know that many of the atheist or agnostic bloggers have seen this video. I probably first noticed it on Planet Atheism. I wanted to post about it on here and on my regular blog. I never heard of this growing up and wonder what my friends and family who grew up catholic would think.
I know i didn't explain it very well. Any clarifications are welcomed.
This is so fascinating. If you believe the bible and the story of Jesus to be a fact then you owe it to yourself to watch this video If you decide to deny this information then state the reasons for your denial.
I would love to know how you can justify your belief after viewing. Some may not even want to view it. Might make you think about why you believe what you do. Isn't that a positive thing? Would you want to be walking around and believing nonsense or would you want someone to tell you the truth?
The video explains how the story of Jesus, is not only shared by many many other ancient religions, but that the whole entire story is entirely astrologically based.
Everyone has heard at one time or another that ancient religions worshiped the sun. We know this because of hieroglyphics. In the video it states that the Sun is the most adorned object of all time.
In those days the Sun and the stars were categorized by constellations and used to help them understand the world around them by recognizing and anticipating events, like an eclipse.
Jesus's story is not unique. Horus, the sun god of Egypt has a similar story. He was born of a virgin birth on December 25, he started is ministry at 30, had 12 disciples, was crucified and rose from the dead. Many other gods like Krishna of India, Dionysus of Greece and Mertha of Persia have a similar or exact structure.
What does this have to do with the sun?
Why do these religions share similar attributes?
Because its just a story. A story retold and retold with different players.
It all about the Solar System. Its entirely astrological in nature.
Sirius is the brightest star in the east. It lines up with three other bright stars called the three kings. These stars all point to the sunrise on December 25th. This is why the three kings follow the star in the east. They are literally behind the brightest star pointing towards the sunrise on Dec 25th. Hence birth of the 'Sun' on December 25th.
Back in ancient times the people in those days noted how if you were in the northern hemisphere that the sun appeared to move south and becoming scarce. This symbolized the death of the sun to the people. The sun reached it lowest point in the sky on December 22 and seemed to stay still. Then the sun started moving south for three days and on December 25th it rises one degree. (resurrected).
Jesus = the sun
12 disciples = 12 months of the year
It a myth.
I'm really simplifying this and not doing a good job of it at that so you need to watch the video to get the whole story.
It makes sense.
