another comment I needed to respond to on teaching children that the earth is young

As a Catholic, i feel slightly bad for those kids. Only slightly bad for them? jeez, I feel really bad for them because they are going to be grown up and very ignorant. the real Church doesn't hate science, only unethical science. What do you consider unethical science? stem cell research? I'm a cancer survivor and I'm all for it. I don't think there is such a thing as unethical science. The definition of science is the system of acquiring knowledge. How can that be unethical?

likewise, i also feel kind of bad for kids being raised by secular parents to fuck their brains out at 14, divorce at 26 (and again at 32), then play pharmaceutical roulette till death (which they unquestioningly believe is The End). Um, who is teaching their kids to fuck their brains out? That is just a bad parent. period. Death is the end as far as i'm concerned. I have no reason, absolutely no reason to think otherwise.

there's baptist brainwashing, secular brainwashing, democratic and republican and red chinese and tibetan buddhist brainwashing. There are always extremists, however, atheists never blow up themselves and others in the name of an invisible man in sky.

unfortunate on all sides, but it doesn't bear on the question of truth. it just means some people --atheists, Catholics, socialists, whatever-- are unreasonable about their beliefs. I disagree. Atheism is not a belief. It is the absence of belief.

Nope, just in the name of a brighter tomorrow! And yet, their victims are just as dead.
